14 days, 23 hours. That’s all the time I have left before I embark on what promises to be the most exhilarating travel experience of my life! Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, and who knows where else—this is the adventure I’ve been dreaming of for so long. But instead of ticking things off my to-do list like a well-organized traveler, my ADHD brain has me stuck in a strange limbo. The deadline still feels too far away to kick me into full gear.
That is, until reality hits. I don’t just have 14 days—I have exactly 2 days, 8 hours before my shipping container is picked up and taken to my mum’s. 😱😱😱
At first, packing was exciting. The thrill of preparing for a journey made it feel effortless. Neatly folded clothes, carefully packed gear, travel essentials all sorted—everything had its place. But now? Now, I’m staring at all the odd bits and pieces that don’t quite belong anywhere. The random cables, the sentimental trinkets, the last-minute “should I take this?” items.
There’s no time for precision anymore. No time to overthink every little item. I’m officially entering the “just throw it in a box” phase. If it fits, it ships—literally. My only goal now is to get everything packed and in that container before Thursday morning.
It’s funny how my brain works. The moment I realized how little time I had left, the urgency kicked in. Suddenly, I’m moving at lightning speed, throwing things in boxes, making split-second decisions, and pushing through the mental fog that’s been keeping me stuck. Procrastination might be my default mode, but when the clock is ticking this loudly, even my ADHD can’t stop me. (It’s trying too)
The next two days will be a blur of bubble wrap, tape, and last-minute dashes to the storage container. But once it’s all done? I’ll finally be able to shift my focus to the real adventure ahead. The places I’ll go, the people I’ll meet, the experiences waiting for me—this is what it’s all about.
For now, though, I just need to survive the packing chaos. Wish me luck—I’m going to need it!
